Fire stop sealing barrier : Selection
- Materials to be selected for sealing shall be based on one of Tested designs. A tested design is either tested by a third party recognised lab of repute as per ASTM E 814 and shall be enlisted under UL 1479 or FM 4990 testing programme.
- The tested design shall have same penetration, Size and no. of penetration may be same or more . The cut out shall have opening size, max dimensions and annular space as recommended in the tested design.
- A tested design system under UL1479 or FM may have one more fire stop material and other material as in tested designs. All tested design gives details of material to be used, source, application method, opening size, Annular space, Penetration details and quantity.
